Balika Diwas celebration

“To all the little girls who are reading this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful, and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams.”

Savitribai Phule was the first female teacher and modern feminist in India. She was born on 3rd January, 1831. The legendary icon was also a social reformer who was loved by all. She was well-known for her contributions to women's education, the abolition of caste and gender discrimination, and other causes. She was one of the most popular women who fought for women's rights.
We all know 3rd January is celebrated as Balika diwas and Mahila shikshan din in Maharashtra. We the teachers of N.K.E.S. High school were pleased to take this opportunity and present a small program for the students of our school.
                                            Grade VIII- X
The following programme was conducted for the students :
1. Essay Writing competition
The students were provided with the topic ‘ The woman who inspired/inspires me the most’ and had the liberty of writing it in the language of their choice ( English, Marathi,Hindi, Kannada). Approximately 150 students participated in the competition and made it a success.
2. Speech and Power Point Presentation on ‘ Importance of Balika-Diwas’ by Sakshi Singh of class VIII A.
3. Talk and Information on ‘Health and Nutrition’ by Ms. Rutika Kuckian ( Nutritionist).

                                     Grade V- VII

The programme was scheduled in the following way:-
• Prayer by the girls
• Introduction of the guest by the head mistress.
• Guidance by Rutika kuckian about Diet and nutrition.
• Skit in Hindi
• Dance
• Speech in Marathi. (Smt Savitribai Phule)
• Song by the girls.
• PPT on Smt Savitribai Phule.
• Vote of Thanks.
